A huge success marked the Aste Bolaffi Fine Wine and Spirits auction on November 17th in Turin. The sale - featuring a unique selection of wines and spirits with bottles from noteworthy Italian and international collections, as well as from small, prestigious cellars - totaled 1,1 million euros.
The top lots of the sale were a Macallan Single Malt 18 Years vertical collection of 16 bottles from 1968 to 1983 (lot 693) auctioned off at 27.500 euros and a Masseto vertical collection of 24 bottles from 2005 to 2012 in their original wooden cases, (lot 150), which sold for 17.500 euros.
Amongst the other highlights were 12 bottles of Château Mouton Rothschild, as well as 6 magnum bottles of Barolo Monfortino Riserva 1985 Giacomo Conterno auctioned off at 15.000 euros each. “This result – says Luisa Bianconi, expert in Aste Bolaffi’s Fine Wine department – confirms the ever-growing appeal of Italian wines on an international level, not only as a much sought-after commodity for wine connoisseurs, but also as a promising form of investment”.
